At Last Benchers Association, we believe in being honest and just to our cause. Our primary goal is to serve children who are in need of education, but our efforts extend to various other initiatives that benefit the community. We are based in Varanasi, India, and our activities include organizing events that provide education through art, craft, and quizzes, donating clothes, and running educational campaigns.

Since our founding in April of 22 in year 2024 by Sourabh Chatterjee, we have made significant strides in our mission. We've successfully completed 36+ drives.

Revitalizing Rural Education: The Dandupur Project

Under the SHE India Initiative, the Last Benchers Association has partnered with the government through an official MoU to champion the Primary School, Dandupur. Today, this school stands as a testament to what public education can be, boasting modern facilities and resources that rival top-tier private institutions. Yet, despite these upgrades, enrollment numbers remain a challenge. Our recent grassroots surveys across Dandupur and neighboring villages revealed two major hurdles blocking access to quality education. The first is a deep-rooted psychological stereotype a widespread community misconception that equates government schools with subpar education, driving parents toward private alternatives regardless of the financial strain.

The second major hurdle is physical infrastructure. Severe connectivity issues between the surrounding villages make the daily commute hazardous, physically preventing children from accessing the school. To bridge this divide, our team is currently drafting formal petitions to the District Magistrate and relevant authorities, urgently advocating for the construction of an overbridge that will safely connect these communities directly to the school gates.

Changing generations of community mindset while fighting for critical infrastructure is a massive undertaking, and we cannot do it alone. We are actively seeking passionate surveyors and volunteers to join our on-the-ground teams. We need dedicated individuals to help us gather crucial data, conduct community awareness drives to break educational stereotypes, and strengthen our advocacy campaign. If you want to play a direct role in building a Safe, Healthy, and Educated India, we invite you to join us. Volunteers who complete thirty or more hours of dedicated service on this project will be recognized with an official Volunteer Appreciation Certificate for their impact. Help us bridge the gap both physically and mentally and ensure every child in Dandupur has access to the education they deserve.

Here is how our initiative creates meaningful impact across all fronts:

For the Schools: Bridging the Digital Divide For many grassroots and local educational institutions, transitioning to the digital age is blocked by high corporate costs and lack of technical guidance. We remove these barriers. By providing schools with robust, custom-built web infrastructure, we give them a professional digital identity. This transformation allows schools to streamline their administration, manage online admissions, and maintain seamless communication with parents and students through digital notice boards. Ultimately, it elevates the school's credibility and ensures local students aren't left behind in a digital-first world.

For the Interns: Building Real-World Leaders We believe in bridging the gap between academic theory and corporate reality. Instead of assigning theoretical "sandbox" exercises, we empower college students and recent graduates by putting them on the frontlines of live client projects.

Tech Interns graduate from our program with a live portfolio of active, public-facing URLs they built from scratch.
Marketing Interns build a hardcore corporate sales record by pitching directly to school principals and closing B2B contracts. Through performance-based stipends, mentorship, and official credentials, we are transforming students into highly employable, confident professionals who know how to deliver real-world results.

For the Organization: Scaling Social Impact For the Last Benchers Association, this initiative is a direct extension of our core mission to revolutionize education and youth empowerment. By deploying this model, we are building a vast, interconnected network of modernized schools while actively tackling youth unemployment through skill-building. It creates a self-sustaining cycle of impact: our youth get the professional experience they desperately need, our grassroots schools get the technology they deserve, and the organization moves one step closer to a fully digitized, educated India.
